Whether to lay a basic dance groove, a classic cover, or a light ballad, Handy Drums VINTAGE STANDARD works in various styles, from Pop to light Rock, Acid Jazz, Blues, and more.

Inspired by Don Henley’s drumset sound in Hotel California, the Vintage Standard brings the kind of warmth, presence, and character of the yesteryears. While we used some of the fine contemporary equipment to capture the sound, we first treated the drumset in the way they did back in the ’70s. We gave masking tape and napkins a run for their money. After a careful multitrack mixdown to stereo, we ran it through an analog tape reel for that elusive saturation.

Characterized by dry ambient sound and short decay, this kit projects punch, warmth, and controlled tom sound. The cymbals are dark-sounding.
